Think Before You Pop Off: The Effects of Being ‘Angry Woman’ on Your Kids

So we’ve all seen, been or are the child of a ‘Angry Woman’ that will pop off on anyone at any time. In the black community we chalk this up to the hardships of being a single mother but hell even mother’s with a man can act a fool in public.

I wouldn’t say my mother was angry but she sure as hell embarrassed me more than a dozen times in front of friends and family. At the time I don’t think she understood nor cared how her actions made me feel.

That brings me to my next point. Ms Tami Roman didn’t realize at the time she was punkin women on national television that her daughters would be embarrassed. It’s one thing people in the neighborhood knowing your mom is a goon but to have all your classmates and teachers see your mother behave like a kid you go to school with is devastating.

As women we can be a bit emotional and get lost in trying to make a point. As mother’s we have to realize we represent a few little people that look up to us. No, I’m not saying let people punk you but if you don’t show your kids how to resolve conflicts without name calling and throwing bows who will.

Our kids are not with us at business meetings and at work so they often don’t get to see us in action but they do have the privilege of riding with us in the car when someone cuts us off or when we find out some juicy gossip. We don’t want that to be the only image our kids have of us.

We have to think before we pop off ladies. Someone is always watching.

Watch Tami Roman gets emotional on the Wendy Williams Show after learning how she embarrassed her children with her hood antics.

Very true, I have a lil lady watching my every move never really realized it until I walked past her “playing” and she was mocking conversations and disciplining her kids as I do her. So they are watching wether you think they are or not they watch and grow to be just as they see not as you teach. So curbing my words and my techniques with discipline is going to be difficult but has Bern something as a first time mom I need to do to show her that I'm not an angry black woman!!!

Thanks for commenting. We aren't perfect as moms but it's so important to do our best around our children. Just as we want them to represent us in public and in school. We must do the same. Keep up the great work Fly Mama – Thanks for reading.
