Extraordinary Living Begins with Mommy
Hi There,
I’m Chanel Hemphill. Let me get this introduction out the way. I’m a full-time and freelance Marketing Strategist. I have a competitive ten-year-old son and a creative sixteen-year-old sister.
I’ve been wifed up for almost eight years to my ride or die husband. Purple lipstick is phenomenal. I read way more than Facebook statuses and love art beyond Instagram posts. Oh, and I love photography (Chicago graffiti gives me fearless vibes at the moment.)

Now on to the important stuff. YOU ARE FABULOUS and POWERFUL!
I’ve always been pretty good with words, but my passion is helping people see themselves in all their glory. My career and degree in marketing communications aid me in bringing people’s gifts to the forefront.
My mind functions like one endless chapter of Proverbs. People feeling hopeless and limited bothers my spirit. So I decided to do something about it.
Helping people answer that big question, “What is my purpose in life?” – gives my life purpose. So you see – I get by giving.
Mommy Making Moves launched in 2012 in the form of a blog, where I expressed my thoughts on the importance of moms not giving up on themselves. The brand has since morphed into an online group of more than 350 moms, weekly Pep Talk emails, online store and professional development consulting.
It’s obvious that there are millions of mommies interested in getting the best out of life. And we deserve that, if we’re willing to work for it.
Pretty much if we can house a whole human in our body for 10 months, we can run the world (at-least a piece of it). And it’s not just about financial gain – it’s about feeling fulfilled mentally, physically and spiritually. Parenting is already extremely demanding – add the feelings of depression or failure and that adds 100 pounds.
We can’t be awesome parents feeling like that.
Why do I care about other moms?
My own mother was a powerhouse single mom that made rainbows appear on the darkest days. All that hard work came with a price. She went way too long without caring for her physical health, which eventually led to colon cancer. She passed at 36 leaving behind three kids. Tragic, I know!
That’s not going to happen to me and I don’t want it to happen to you either.
Stress is a very real issue for adults. However, studies show women encounter a greater deal of stress due to career advancement, income limitations and running a household. These stressors exist with or without a partner.
We all have the power to create fulfilling lives without sacrificing our health. Wouldn’t life be easier if you knew where to go for answers or if people actually helped you put your big ideas into motion. Well, that’s what my mission is. It’s to help women (many that are moms) get out of their own way. Negative thinking doesn’t benefit you or your family, so why do we waste so much time doubting ourselves.
It’s time to stop doubting our influence, ideas and power.
Mommy Making Moves aims is to minimize the barriers moms experience when trying to pursue goals as an active parent. We focus on three areas – creating online opportunities to build meaningful connections, events that challenge your thinking and channels for growing personally and professionally.
It’s proven that when moms are successful, communities advance. That’s what I call #MommyMagic 😉
