“A winner knows how much he still has to learn, even when he is considered an expert by others; a loser wants to be considered an expert by others before he has learned enough to know how little he knows.”

Morning Move Makers: My message today is about finding your own path.

Maps, examples , land marks, travel guides are all helpful when going somewhere. What happens when you’ve lost your map? When your GPS google maps is off?  For me that was my mother. For you that could be the absence of a father or maybe you took a wrong turn that caused you to get a little lost off path. Once we lose our map or get off path our life becomes about getting back on track. We spend an excessive amount of time trying to figure out “Why” and “How” we got lost.
I’m here to tell you that you’ll make it there. Yes it’s taking you longer to get to where you feel you should have been years ago but you’ll wiser and much more appreciative of what took so much effort to attain. Quitting is not an option!!
You can take a break, cry, yell and regroup. Just know that if something is meant for you, you will get there.

Dry Congrats on Career Accomplishments: Are Women More Excited About Relationship News?

This will be quick as I know you’re busy closing business deals, setting up meetings and planning your life and every one elses.

A close acquaintance of mine was a bit bothered that when she shared some great news with friends and family everyone blew it off as “oh, that’s nice.”
To her this was huge, life changing almost but it was treated as an everyday occurrence. It got me to thinking (every situation should) why are women so quick to jump on the bandwagon in regards to relationships but when it comes to career success the conversation is short?
Women have discovered how to control their financial destiny but are still a bit confused at how to bag the man of their dreams. The truth is in today’s society it’s an easier task becoming CEO of your company than to find a man that genuinely loves, appreciates and respects you. This is a hard reality for many of us.
So I guess because a large chunk of women are moving up the corporate ladder a promotion is no longer BIG news but moving up the relationship ladder is bit more of an accomplishment.
Do your friends seem more excited about relationship subjects than career subjects? Why do think that is?

3 Tips to Develop a Positive

Mindset for Achievement

  • Accept responsibility: You are powerful beyond measure. You are full of potential that you haven’t began to access because you haven’t been challenged to use those skills. Accept that you are equipped to progress. Don’t back down from challenges. It’s ok not to know something, but it is not ok to go on being ignorant. There is a book and a google search for everything. Do the research…
  • Be willing to take risk: Not every opportunity will be simple. You must be willing and ready to move on an opportunity. Many opportunities present themselves before we THINK we’re ready. Truth is you’ll never know until you try.
  • Boss Talk with Female
    Executives Panelist
  • Make your atmosphere positive: It’s a bit difficult for a rose to flourish in concrete. Make your world a haven for your ambition. Those around you should feed you encouragement. Not just by pumping your head up (that’s nice too) but by their actions. Find inspiration from your friends and family. Inspirations is everywhere. Find it and use it to keep pushing towards your goals. Witnessing others overcome tough situations will give you courage to keep moving in your journey.

New Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer: Mommy Makin Major Moves

New Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer was the first female engineer hired at Google in 1999, where she became one of the company’s top executives and most visible public faces. Only 37, Mayer has often been named one of the most powerful women in business. Mayer spoke here at at TechCrunch Disrupt NYC in May 2012.

You can be good at technology and like fashion and art. You can be good at technology and be a jock. You can be good at technology and be a mom. You can do it your way, on your terms.” – Marissa Mayer

Congrats on the Pregnant newly appointed CEO of Yahoo!

(CNN) — Google’s first female engineer, Marissa Mayer, has made a career out of bucking expectations — and she did so once again on Monday by announcing she will leave Google to be the new CEO of Yahoo, the struggling company that once was Google’s main competitor.
The tech world reacted with shock to the news. But it’s perhaps time everyone got used to the idea that Mayer, who was Google’s 20th employee and who is credited with the success of many of its most famous products, isn’t the kind of person who does only what people expect her to do.
“There is such a stereotype of the hacker — the pasty-skinned guy with the thick glasses, the pocket protector, the blue glow coming off of the monitor … people think if they’re going to be good at this, that’s what they need to be,” Mayer told CNN in an interview earlier this year.

Being professional even during your side hustle

Here goes a brief rant.

Don’t you highly dislike when your beautician gossips telling all her business and the business of everyone she’s come in contact with in her whole life. Small conversation is one thing but these folks tell addresses and dates of incidents. That’s just too much for the work place. Yes, the beauty shop is a work place.

Why is it ok to push professionalism to the side during a hustle that you govern yourself? Professionalism should not only exist when a larger corporation is enforcing the standards, Right?

Your customers don’t care that you sell purses out the trunk of your car or Jewelry out your house. They deserve to be treated like they’re shopping at Nordstrom’s or on Rodeo Drive. They deserve top notch quality service.

Your customers talk a lot believe me. When you make them feel good they’ll go tell it on the mountain.. That’s what you want. Word of mouth business is the best marketing for a small biz owner like yourself.

Do the right thang. Be a respectable adult that understand there is a time and place for everything. That includes gossip. Spreading people’s personal business is a No No, but if you do could you at least have the decency to do it behind closed doors with a limited number of people.

It’s already hard to build a customer base. Don’t sabotage your success by talking too much about the wrong thing.

Remember your hustle has the potential to become your bread and butter. It may even open you up to bigger and better opportunities. If you’re ratchet attitude and lack of professionalism is bolder than your products it could be grounds for failure.

Professionalism: It’s NOT the job you DO, It’s HOW you DO the job.”

Unplanned Pregnancy & Success: The Mary Mary Life

Happy Memorial Day Recovery,

It was blazing in Chicago. 91 degree’s no breeze. It was too hot for me to be slaving over a stove so I relaxed watching the Mary Mary Marathon.

As I’m branding and formulating our company of providing motivation to the masses. Specifically mommies making moves 🙂 Mary Mary’s reality TV show reveals many of the obstacles and perks of being a woman living her passion while being a caring mother and partner.
Family 1st and foremost is their focus. It’s the reason they exist. 2 sisters with a mission to prove to the world that Jesus music (as my little sister would call it) can reach the cool crowd.

One episode really touched me. Tina discovered she was pregnant. While this should be a magical moment for a married woman with a supportive partner, it’s not. It’s a reminder of another person tugging on Tina’s house coat. On a grander level it puts a major glitch in every one’s business plans. As much as we’d like to be super woman, we have our limitations during pregnancy.

Modern day moms have so much more to think about when planning a family. Women are becoming majority breadwinners and the one’s organizing everything related to family. That’s a hell of a job for someone with a full time career.

It’s evident everyday that moms are running the world. It’s also evident that we need help to do so. We need supportive men and families that understand that we are more than mothers but everything we do contributes to the progression of our family.

Help a Mama Out!!!!

I definitely admire these mommies for all they juggle. Hope you’ll be tuning in for the season finale of Mary Mary Thursday 9/8c on WeTV.

Lets support mommies makin moves.

Ok, mama.

Lets chat later.
