Everytime I see a young mother struggling to make a better life for her kids, I just see my mother. I can’t shake my connection to their struggle. I’m their child, I’m that kid watching their mother work 3 jobs, I’m that latch key kid, I’m that kid that watches her mother cry over failed relationships, I’m that kid watching her mother fight with the father of her kids to pay child support, to see his child. I’m that kid.. I saw my mother sacrifice and go through so much. I praise God that she’s in a better place because I truly believe my mother was just tired of fighting. God knows I feel the pain for kids of single moms. Kids feel their moms hurt too.
