Morning Pep Talk – Claim Your Confidence

Not cocky, but convinced that God has given me what I need to get where he destined me to be. Never be afraid to be confident. Confidence doesn’t mean you have everything or know everything. It means your comfortable enough in your own skin to admit you don’t know everything but in due time you’ll figure it out.

Claim your confidence!

Morning Mommy Minute

Morning Move Makers – One of the most effective prayers I’ve prayed is for God to surround me with people that would get me to the next level of thinking, opportunity, spirituality. That prayer alone has brought increase into my life. My message to you is don’t just pray for God to remove the bad people; Pray that he puts you in the presence of so many exceptional people you don’t have time for the negative ones.

10 Techniques for Developing Daily Motivation

How to Stay Motivated All the Time
By: Dennis Kimbro
1. Develop the right mental attitude.
2. Aspire to something greater than yourself. Develop a “magnificent obsession.”
3. Possess a futuristic outlook; take the long – range view. Release the past.
4. Develop deep personal integrity. Be someone you can admire.
5. Accept total personal responsibility. Remain in complete control at all times. Do not be manipulated by people or events. Operate on a personal timetable.
6. Edify and affirm others. Remember nothing is greater than love.
7. Be grateful, not critical. Develop a gratitude attitude.
8. Select your friends with care. Minimize people dependency. If you dominate your associates. There is no way for you to expand or grow.
9. Do it now! Decide what habits or changes you wish to alter in your life; make those changes and never let an exception occur.
10. Look for mentors. Mentors who ” are larger than life” expand us, mentors in different fields broaden us, and deceased mentors inspire us.

Fight Against Domestic Violence Benefit Concert & "Black Stlettos" Fashion Show

Message from Organizers

Dear Friends,

The Women of the Windy City are looking for women to join them and take a stand in bringing awareness against domestic violence on October 26. Domestic Violence has claim the lives of many women and will continue to claim women lives until we come together to empower women to fight back.

I’m honored to have Mayor Sherman C. Jones to support this cause to prevent Domestic Violence from taking the lives of young women in his community and surrounding community. I’m reaching out to all Directors of Youth programs for girls. The time has come for us to come together from all communities and become a powerful force.

I’m asking for us to network together by supporting each others youth programs to continue in making a difference in our communities. It’s my prayer and vision to see African American women put aside their differences and take their rightful stand in leadership. We are the present role models for the future young women of tomorrow. We are the women that young women see and hear for once let them see us unite and become as one.

This event will not be successful without your support in being present at the “Black Stilettos” Fashion Show. Please join me as I tell my story of silence against Domestic Violence alone with my friends guest models from Miss Black Illinois.

You can purchase your tickets on www.womenofthewindycity.com  or www.eventbrite.com Friends of Sherman Jones. Tickets: $45.00 includes VIP seating, one free drink, food, or $35.00 includes General seating, food, and cash bar. Group discount tickets available 10 or more contact Angelia @630-886-6615
