Get Used to It: There will be some "ugly days" during the progression process.

BEAST MODE! I know beasts aren’t cute, but to hell with being cute when you have goals to reach. Just kidding. I love my lipstick lol. But, there will be some “ugly days” during the progression process. 2016 is your break out year and you need to be ready. The slate has been wiped clean and the sweet smell of opportunity is in the air. Smells like Victoria Secret Love Spell on a 14 year old girl. Our optimism is strong and our vision is clear at this point in the year. Mama’s got big plans! How do we keep that momentum?

REFLECT, PLAN, PURSUE, REVISE

The goals and dreams of last year should be categorized in 3 ways:

      •  I accomplished my goal
      •  I’m rolling this goal over
      •  I’m deleting this goal
      DON’T FEEL DEFEATED
Do not feel defeated if you did not accomplish a goal or need to roll them over. Life unexp
ected happens to us all and we are balancing other lives besides our own. We’re building more than just dream businesses. We’re building dream relationships, dream kids, dream homes and dream careers. Just breathe and say, “I Got THIS!”

      USE YOUR ENERGY FOR GOOD
We must use our energy to press forward, not to beat ourselves up about goals deferred. Growth happens and that can mean out growing a goal. It’s best to delete that goal (or person) and move on. Holding on to it could be a distraction from other goals you’re passionate about. Let it go and focus!

      PLAN OUT YOUR VISION
Go look at your old vision board or list and start thinking about how that goal fits into your life or the life you want.  If we don’t review what we did or didn’t do – we can’t apply those lessons to 2016. I lear
ned some really big business and family lessons last year that will help me plan better this year. One big lesson I learned is that organization is needed to succeed. Doing things by the seat of our pants is not the way to build an empire. I’m planning to bring the heat this year.

“If you do not know where you come from, then you don’t know where you are, and if you don’t know where you are, then you don’t know where you’re going. And if you don’t know where you’re going, you’re probably going wrong.” Terry Pratchett

Is "Work" a 4 Letter Word in Your House?

Over the years, I watched my mom go from a Jewel Osco cashier, to Bank Teller, to a home Loan Officer. At the end of her life she was making more than 90k. If it wasn’t for that damn colon cancer, I’m sure she would have clocked that 6 figures before 40. That’s pretty damn good for a single mom of three with no college degree.

Hands down my mother was the ultimate hustler. Honestly, many of the single mothers I know are driven on a level of purpose regular folks will never understand. They feel like they have to do the work for the absent parent. I imagine that’s exactly how my mom felt. I learned the true value of WORK from her.
I can’t ever remember my mother not working. Her motto was, “If you want it, work for it.” Something I still live by.
When she made the decision to buy a home I remember

it vividly. She told me and my younger brother we would have to stay with our Grandmother while she saved money. She moved into a studio apartment close to her job. I now understand that she needed to work multiple jobs to save money and wanted to be sure we were with a trusted relative while she worked non-stop. There is nobody more trustworthy than Granny.
As a mother, I know that had to be tough decision for her to separate herself from her kids. Her goals were much bigger than her comfort zone. Luckly, she had an amazing support system that supported her goals.
During this time, my mother became a licensed Real Estate Agent, worked at a retail store and held down her 9 – 5 as a home Loan Officer. Can you say GRINDMODE.
She was focused on buying her family a home and she did it. 2 years later, we moved into a 2 bedroom, three floor townhouse –  not far from my Grandmother’s house. Me and my brother were all too geeked to get our own rooms. The backyard was huge with a deck and two car garage. She was 31 years old.
Watching my mother do what was necessary to give us stability taught me a valuable lesson. Sometimes, we must be unstable to experience stability. She could have just said, I’ll stay with my mother since she has empty rooms. Nope, she wanted her own. She wanted to prove to herself that she didn’t need a man, handouts or a degree to purchase a home. All she needed was faith, focus and a crazy drive to succeed.
Her work ethic serves as the blueprint for my life. In the short 19 years I had with her she proved that statics mean nothing when you’re willing to sacrifice and WERK hard.
So my question to you is, do your kids know what you’re working towards?

If not, maybe it’s time you let your kids in on your vision. You’ll be surprised at how much kids understand.

We About That Life – Keeping Your Momentum While Mommying

Beyonce and Oprah aren’t the only women in the world with big dreams and big talent. You have something special too. No matter what your beginnings, your goals can be achieved. Easy! Nope, it takes a lot of time to find the right combination of time, resources and opportunity. It can be done. It has been done.

Keep yourself amped about your goals. Day to day tasks get boring. ( Lord knows I know) Add some umph to your routine with personal pep talks. It’s perfectly normal for you to boost your confidence by projecting your future career, scholastic and business plans to the world. Don’t be arrogant, but having a positive outlook on your future will inspire those around you.

Start on your business plan, even if you have no money. Put a picture of your dream house on your wall, even if you stay in a shelter. List the characteristics of your dream job, even if you’re a freshman in high school. It’s never too early to start planning for your future wins.

Keep pushing and believing in your dreams but remember without hard, smart work there will be no reward.

So many wonder why other’s are in better situations. They probably bust their butt to get where they are, They may pray when you don’t feel like it and work when you said your tired. 3 Tips to Develop a Positive

      Mindset for Achievement

      • Accept responsibility: You are powerful beyond measure. You are full of potential that you haven’t began to access because you haven’t been challenged to use those skills. Accept that you are equipped to progress. Don’t back down from challenges. It’s ok not to know something, but it is not ok to go on being ignorant. There is a book and a google search for everything. Do the research…
      • Be willing to take risk: Not every opportunity will be simple. You must be willing and ready to move on an opportunity. Many opportunities present themselves before we THINK we’re ready. Truth is you’ll never know until you try.
      • Boss Talk with Female
        Executives Panelist
      • Make your atmosphere positive: It’s a bit difficult for a rose to flourish in concrete. Make your world a haven for your ambition. Those around you should feed you encouragement. Not just by pumping your head up (that’s nice too) but by their actions. Find inspiration from your friends and family. Inspirations is everywhere. Find it and use it to keep pushing towards your goals. Witnessing others overcome tough situations will give you courage to keep moving in your journey.

Are you hanging with rachet people with no direction?

      Let’s get to it.

Have you noticed yourself questioning your circle of Friends. Do you find yourself thinking why am I friends with this person? She keeps up drama, is way to concerned with other people (not in a positive way) and has no direction and aren’t trying to find away to a better life.
This happens to all of us at some point. We begin to wonder how the behavior of our friends and family reflect on us. Yes I said family because family will hold you back from your greatness just as much as strangers.
This light bulb usually goes off when we decide that we want better for ourselves. Naturally we look to someone for advice but when we notice that everyone we hang around is sinking in the same boat as us we start thinking what the hell have I been doing all these years.
It’s a necessary slap in the face that will motivate you to seek mentors and friends on higher ground. Slowly but surely you’ll see what you’ve been missing and gradually move away from people that don’t support your progression. They may start calling you  stuck up but it’s a price all great people must pay. Don’t start acting funny like “You hoes ain’t on nothing” but express your goals to them and welcome them to join if they are serious about achieving goals.
Life has away of clearing your path of distractions once you’ve made the decision to better yourself.
Many will be happy for you. Soon you’ll be the inspiration for others to break out their comfort zone, prompting them to get their life together.
Well, I hope this was tad bit helpful and you can look forward to more live and direct entries like this one. Mrs. Chanel AKA MommyMakinMoves has found her lane.

      The Secret to Success?

I have a simple message for you this morning. There have been dozen’s of books and seminars claiming to reveal the secret of success but the truth is there is only one person that holds the key. The Key to success is……..

There is no key to success. There are common qualities of successful people. Dedication, Vision, Networking, Optimism and Long work hours. These are qualities that we all are born with or can learn. If there is something that you absolutely don’t want to live without, you will make a way to get it. Just as people do crazy things for love, crazy things must be done to achieve goals. That same enthusiasm you have when you first meet an attractive member of the opposite sex, you need that to achieve goals. Dream about it at night, plan to see it in the morning, find friends that can get you close to it.

The only thing standing between you and your end goal is your inability to want it bad enough.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Don’t be afraid!!!! Take that first step towards the life you want..

      LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kevin Liles – 10 Rules to Get You from Intern 2 President

Kevin Liles ascent from unpaid intern to president, author, philanthropist, motivational speaker and consultant to many entertainment and political boards began in 1991 when he became an unpaid intern for Def Jam in the Mid-Atlantic region. Rule Four: Create A Blueprint

You’ll need a road map to success. Create a vision to help you see where it all fits. Focusing on the big picture will help you edit out the things that distract you from success.

      Rule Six: The Come Up

Learning to love the hard times can make you stronger, wiser and more willing to take risks.

Greed can trip you up. Money matters, but it’s only a means to more options, freedom and security for the future.

Rule Ten: Flex Purpose, Not Power

It’s never too soon in your career to pick up a few management skills and learn how to lead.
