Chicago Anti Violence TV Show: Kidz Korna Not for Profit Needs Volunteers

If you’re anything like me you’re tired of hearing the heartbreaking stories of young men and children being shot down in the Chicago streets. It’s something that none of us should ever get use to and we don’t have to. Chicago Not for Profit Kidz Korna has been making noise on violence for years. I’ve personally participated in event and let me tell you hunny, NOTHING is going to stop Mrs. Delece Williams for helping kids. Delece Williams is an amazing force that cares about what’s happening to our youth as a result of violence in their homes and community.
I’m sure you’ve caught a glimpse of the mascot FuzzBow on CAN-TV
Contact Kidz Korna today to learn how you can help. Details below

New Music: Demetria McKinney AKA Janine Payne from "House of Payne"

Happy Thursday Move Makers,

We’ve all been through some thangs, Right?  I just love a good song to communicate my feelings. Well this track does it for me. Ms. McKinney expresses her love pleading that she’s been through some thangs. She just wants him to work with her.

Miss Thang has some nice vocals, not to mention she’s beautiful!

I’m looking forward to hearing more from her. Listen yourself.

The Importance of Networking-AND Doing It Right! Part I

Posted on BossChicks.com

Networking events are great venues to advertise yourself and your business. I enjoy attending these events because not only does it give me an opportunity to get the word out about my business but it allows me to step out of my comfort zone! 🙂 I am forced to polish up on my business “spiel” and work on my firm hand shake and eye contact. At past events I’ve attended, I have given out a lot ofbusiness cards and met a lot of people. However, there are things I’ve noticed at networking events that are not exactly Networking Event Etiquette.
Here are a few networking event tips to keep in mind:
1) Make sure you take plenty of business cards and information!
PROFESSIONALLY DESIGNED at that. I have received pieces of computer paper with information on it and once someone ran out of cards so they wrote info on a napkin. That is not professional and not a good way to give a “first impression”. You should also have your “spiel” down pat so you’re not struggling to find words when explaining yourself. At networking events you will be getting a lot ofbusiness cards so it is a good idea to write notes to yourself on the back of the cards.

3 Year Old Riley is Loving Her Natural Hair Twist Out

Happy Hump Day Everybody,

I was recently chatting with one of my fabulous friends about her daughter embracing her natural hair and, We came to the realization that teaching our little girls to embrace their hair needs to be a top priority. I’ve been having a similar conversation with my younger sister about her lovely locks. She’s been encountering a bit of criticizim from kids at school about her afro puff ( I think it’s fierce but those little pesky kids say otherwise).

The truth of the matter is that kids can be cruel and pictures of kinky hair aren’t as prevalent as pictures of straight hair. I’m a fan of straight and kinky hair but what I’m not cool with is beautiful little girls feeling like their not pretty because their hair isn’t a certain way.

I found this cute little video that may help you start the conversation with your toddler about her beautiful kinky coif. Please share and pass along.
