“Life is always on. I never get a break from it.” – Drake
The realist ish Drake has ever said. Not really! Drake says a lot of ill ish, but for the sake of this post – let’s go with this quote.
Life has been moving at an accelerated pace since I took on a new gig at The Second City. Pop your collar two times for the new Marketing Manager. Now after you pop your collar pray for me. My work load ain’t no hoe (excuse me Granny)- but I love every minute.
If you’re a fan of Saturday Night Live, you’re familiar with the Improv Mecca of the world. If you’re not a fan of improv, well you’re like what the hell is The Second City.
It’s metaphorically Disney Land for adults itching to get out of their comfort zones. Like people talk about how taking classes or performing at The Second City changed their lives. It’s like some real spiritual awakening stuff going on in there.

Side note: Moms are dope!
The Training Center morphed into a much larger line of business aimed to help EVERYONE learn to live in the moments of life using improv. There’s a lot more to The City (I’ve given it a nick name, cause that’s what black folks do.)
The City is full of amazing people living this Yes, And philosophy. What is the Yes, And philosophy?
The Yes, And philosophy is this crazy notion that instead of shooting down ideas, you add to them. By building onto someone else’s idea you make the idea better and also make the originator of that idea look great, too.
The Second City environment is about helping people be their best. It’s not everyday you find a company that aligns with you life’s mission. Some how God lead me to this amazing institution that encompasses all the mess I’ve been talking about for years.
It was really hard to see my long term goals come true when I was in that boring ass cubicle at Blue Cross and Blue Shield. My journey of self improvement lead me to The Second City. There’s no doubt that my experience at The Second City will move me closer to my larger goal of…
