Nobody Likes a Lazy Lover or Selfish One

Relationships may be the most talked about topic on social media in 2016 – next to gun violence that is. Did you see how the webs went crazy over #MrStealYourGrandma?

Straight Savages

I swear I can’t remember a day when I didn’t see a meme about THOT behavior, what a marriage should be and what people just want their bae to be.

Everybody’s an expert, but low key even relationships experts don’t have the keys to a happy relationship. Hence, Rob Hill’s recent divorce after 2 months of marriage. No shade.

Relationships are far more complex than people want to admit. I’m married, but I’m damn sure not an expert. I know what works for my relationship – don’t know the secret sauce for yours.

I’ll admit, love is a beautiful thing when it’s with the right person. However, I’ve seen a lot of people fall victim of obsessing so much over finding a mate or keeping a mate – that they lost themselves. That’s why so many people are abandoning the thought of love. Ain’t nobody trying to go crazy over trying to keep somebody that don’t want to be kept.

That’s dangerous.

We all were born with gifts to nurture, dreams to pursue and assignments to carry out. What happens to all that when choose to focus only on what our mate is doing?

For me true love allows me to pursue my God given destiny. A relationship should never mean you have to stop growing. Not sure why anyone would want that anyway.

Nobody wants a lazy lover or a jealous lover.

I want my husband to grow and explore, just like I want my kids to grow and explore. Now of course I don’t want him growing away from me and exploring no other chicks – but I’d be selfish if I got my panties in a bunch every time he wanted to try something new.

Relationships have ups and downs. Believe me when I say if you try to stop your mate from growing – you are not only cheating your mate. You are cheating yourself out of what could be a better man or woman for you.
