I was recently chatting with one of my fabulous friends about her daughter embracing her natural hair and, We came to the realization that teaching our little girls to embrace their hair needs to be a top priority. I’ve been having a similar conversation with my younger sister about her lovely locks. She’s been encountering a bit of criticizim from kids at school about her afro puff ( I think it’s fierce but those little pesky kids say otherwise).
The truth of the matter is that kids can be cruel and pictures of kinky hair aren’t as prevalent as pictures of straight hair. I’m a fan of straight and kinky hair but what I’m not cool with is beautiful little girls feeling like their not pretty because their hair isn’t a certain way.
