Motivate Me Monday – Everybody loves a good gift, Do you appreciate yours?

Your purpose may not be as hard to find as you may think. In life we can over think things when it comes to relationships, careers and education. We become so afraid of making the wrong decision that we postpone making any decision; leading to a life we’d much rather trade in. There is good news, your purpose could be staring you smack dab in the face.

Has some one ever said you should be a (blank)? You probably just blew them off. Truth is people often see our gifts before we notice them. We become so comfortable in our greatness that we abuse it and brush it off as ordinary. What is it that comes natural to you? What can you do effortlessly, without being hassled? You may like to drive, write, read, cook or sing. Perhaps, you have patience and are amazing at giving directions (I’m horrible at both these things.).These qualities that we often over look can be very stable career paths. Making a career out of something you enjoy will lead to a happy healthier life.

You may feel that your gift is small in comparison to others talents. You can either be a McDonald’s cook or you can cook steaks at the finest restaurants in Paris. You could sell used cars or sell the finest foreign cars to high end clientele. You could be a barber at the neighborhood salon or you could be the president’s personal barber. Our gifts are not little; it’s our ability to dream big that makes them appear to be small.

There are people that would love to know what you know and do what you do but that’s not their gift. We can’t look around at everyone else thinking he’s smart, she’s tall, he’s handsome and admiring the gifts of others, while belittling our own.

I’m sure someone is looking at you right now saying “I wish I had what they have.”

Don’t ignore your gift!
